The idea that originally inspired Tim and Jon to form 'Gadjo Guitares' was to expand the repertoire for two acoustic guitars and to include music from multiple genres - Jazz, Classical, Flamenco Americano, Latin American & Manouche.

Jon Fry - Acoustic Guitar
Jon started playing the keyboard at the age of eight with guidance from his grandmother. In his early teens he got his first guitar. Largely self-taught, it was not until later in life that he studied music formally at Truro College (UK), as a student on the Bachelor of Music (Jazz) programme.
£23.95

Jon has been an electric guitarist/music writer for most of his career, touring the UK with progressive bands 'In Watermelon Sugar' and 'The Connection' and doing session work for music production companies and television.

About 15 years ago, he was introduced to the legacy of wonderful guitar players inspired by 'Django Reinhardt'. This, combined with an interest in all things 'jazz and improvisation', has led him to his current musical juncture.

When he's not performing with 'Gadjo Guitares' he can be heard playing with gipsy jazz quartet 'Manouche'.

Jon's acoustic guitar is based on the 'Macaferri/ Selmer' design originally made famous by guitarist 'Django Reinhardt' in the 1930's.

Tim Miller - Acoustic Guitar

Tim (23) got his first guitar when he was 15. Early influences were his sister's violin playing and 70's 'progressive rock' bands. He was taught by guitar wizard 'Simon Spring' at Callington Music College (UK) and has recently completed the Bachelor of Arts (Jazz/ World music) programme at Truro College (UK).

Tim's music is varied and eclectic. His college band 'La Gitane Branche' reflected an interest in European Gypsy music and culture.

When he's not performing with 'Gadjo Guitares', Tim can be heard playing with neo-progressive rock band 'Progatron'.

Tim plays a 'Macaferri/ Selmer' and Yamaha flamenco guitar.
